On March 7, 2026, at approximately 4:45 a.m., the Poinsett County Sheriff's Office and the Trumann Police Department were dispatched to a residence on Tulot Road in reference to a reported shooting involving a female victim.

Upon arrival, deputies and officers located a female outside the residence suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, and the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

During the course of the response, law enforcement officers located a male suspect deceased inside a vehicle on Tulot Road near the residence. The suspect appeared to have sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

****Update - 03/09/2026****

After further investigation into the shooting on Tulot Road, investigators with the Poinsett County Sheriff's Office determined that it was a domestic violence incident. The suspect, Drew Joiner, 28, of Trumann, shot the victim, Ashley Williams, 30, of Trumann, AR, at least six times.

The suspect drove away from the scene as officers arrived, then pulled over and stopped on Tulot Road. Deputies and Trumann Officers initiated a felony stop on the vehicle and started giving commands to the suspect. After no response from the suspect, deputies used less-lethal bean bags to break the glass of the vehicle. The suspect never responded to the officers, so they approached the vehicle and noticed the suspect was deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

This is an ongoing investigation. The victim's status has changed from critical to stable.
